1966 Sprint Coupe Front End Crash Damage Repair

Blue Oval Pony Cars was recently contracted to breathe new life into a 1966 Springtime Yellow Spring Coupe that had been crashed in the nose.

The repairs involved the removal of all damaged metal, which included almost all the pieces across the nose, the drivers fender and the drivers door.  As well as repairing the brakes (a blown wheel cyclinder gets blamed as being the cause of the crash) and replacing the bent spindle.  Luckily that was the only suspension damage.

When removing broken, twisted and damaged metal, be very careful, wear heavy gloves and a Sawsall is your best friend...or you can bring it to us since we repair or replace damaged body components on a regular basis!

In no time the old parts were removed, the new freshly painted parts were installed and this little Pony car was back on the road!

1967 Mustang Convertible Frame Rail Repair with New Battery Apron & New Radiator Core Support

Blue Oval Pony Cars was recently contracted to do some metal work on a terrific little 1967 convertible.

This car was originally a 6 cylinder automatic.  The owner of the car has always wanted a V-8, convertible Mustang.  Haven't we all?!

The 6 cylinder engine has been removed, a suitable 302 V-8 was found and sits comfortably nestled inbetween the shock towers.  An 8 inch V-8 rearend has replaced the light duty 6 cylinder rearend that used to be out back and 5 lug V-8 brakes have been added upfront.

Somewhere in the past, as is so common with so many of these cars, a battery has spilled over and the battery tray - the apron - and the forward frame rail have suffered damage at the hands of the corrosive acid.  This sequence of photo's shows the removal of the damaged radiator core support, the destroyed battery apron and the mildly damaged frame rail.  A simple enough task - cut out the old stuff, carefully measure the new replacement pieces, tack them in place, measure them for square and weld them up.

The replacement pieces will be every bit as strong as the original parts ever were and by undercoating and painting them these parts should be good for another 40 years.

Blue Oval Pony Cars has the expertise and ability to replace aprons, core supports, battery trays, as well as install sub-frame connectors and replace rusted out floor pans.  Feel free to call 425-462-4644 and discuss your needs.
